7 year old Jaisal secures 1st position in U-8 Chess


Recently Jaisal Shah, 7 year old, Grade 2 student of JBCN International School played the 1st Mayor Cup Semi Classical Open Chess Tournament at Kalyan and invited all the attention . It was a 2 day tournament, 28th and 29th October, which was inaugurated  by Mayor Of Kalyan.

There were in total 228 participants. It was an open category. Jaisal played with people who were older to him in the age group of  21 yr old, 40 yr old and 60 plus yr old.

He stood 1st in boys U8 category and overall stood  at 59th place amongst 228 participants. He was the Youngest boy to play in top 10 to 15 tables. He won 4 games, drew 2 games and gained  5 points out of 8.

 

In the IIFL tournament which will take place in December, his next aim is to win in his category,  as the winner  in this tournament will get the chance to play with The Legend Vishwanathan Anand. Hope he gets to play with his idol. Incidentally, this is his 61st trophy he has won.
