Ishwar Kumar a passionate and young composer, is making his debut into films as solo music director with Govinda’s forthcoming film ‘Rangeela Raja’. Says Ishwar, “these days trend is to use multiple music directors for one film. I am sure that I am blessed to have making my debut as a solo music director. It’s a films produced by Pehlaj Nihalani with Govinda in double role. It’s a film with grandeur and style. I got a chance to play a lot with my compositions. With lyrics from a veteran like Meheboob ji all the songs are sung by the best in the industry, viz. Shreya Ghoshal, Udit Narayan, Dev Negi, Mohd irfan, Naqash Aziz and Benny Dayal.” Ishwar adds “there was a long list of established music director wanting to be associated with the film. But Pehelaj ji did not want to give work to anybody by just listening to one or two songs. He insisted that I had to compose as per the demands of the script and if he liked all he will give me work. He kept his word.” Lyrics for the songs are written by Meheboob.
Ishwar, who has till now created jingles for multiple ad campaigns for many top FMCG brands, is proud of his music for a short film VIVASH by Pocket Films which has received more than 6.3 million views. He has composed and sung for many issue based music videos, given music for documentaries for National Geogrephic Channel and created title tracks of few television shows like Mano Ya Na Mano, Indradhanush etc.
Ishwar learnt Hindustani classical music under Ustaad Mohashin Ali Khan (Bhindibazar Muradabad Gharana). He was an Indian Government (ICCR) student in a scholarship for 5 years in Indian classical music division. He also learnt classical music at Shri Ram Bharatiye Kala Kendra under Pandit Deepak Chatterjee and Light Classical music under Charanjeet Soni. He has learnt Carnatic Music from Madras University and is also trained in western classical music from Trinity Music College.
He believes that music has no language or boundaries and so he uses all his learning and beliefs to bring in sounds that will leave his listeners mesmerized.
