‘Bar Bar Dekho’ proves its title wrong

Producers   Ritesh Sidhwani, Karan Johar & Farhan Akhtar have come together to offer their new love story with a difference in the form of ‘Bar Bar Dekho’, which is directed by debutant Nitya Mehra. But, unlike what the title of this film suggests, the film is a big disappointment, for its poor screenplay and not so appealing presentation.Bar bar Dekho Kala chasma song

Jay( Siddharth Malhotra ) and Diya (Katrina Kaif) are childhood friends. Jay turns a Maths professor in Delhi, while Diya becomes an artist. When their friendship grows, Diya proposes Jay for marriage and jay agrees to this proposal after a thought over it. But, soon we find Jay preparing himself to go to Cambridge to take up a job assignment. On this issue, we find verbal fight between the two, with Diya leaving the scene. In the next scene , we find Jay consuming  the whole bottle of champagne before going to bed. Later, we see him waking up from sleep, only to find in confused state, with Diya  sleeping next to him. He does not remember, where he has landed, until Diya tells him that he is on his honeymoon trip.

In the entire film, we find him going through all such events in different stages of his advancing age , when he doesn’t remember anything.  Finally, you see him rewind his timepiece from where he had reached. So, it’s all about his imagination, only to test the patience of the audience.

Only good things about this film are two songs, wonderful cinematography by Ravi K. Chandran and better performances by lead pair Katrina kaif and Siddharth Malhotra. Some of the scenes in the period thirty years ahead have been cleverly  captured, indicating advanced technology through the use of advanced smartphones. Popular Artistes like Sarika, Ram Kapoor and Rajit Kapoor have been wasted in this film. The film is certainly not for those, who look for entertainment. It is more like taxing the audience. Therefore, fails to appeal. Inshort, ‘Bar Bar Dekho’ has proved its title wrong.
