22nd Late Ramanath Payyade Memorial Football
Oliver Castelino’s brilliant two goals were the highlight of Udaya Sports Club’s facile 2-0 win against Jai Bharat Sports Club in a second round league match of the 22nd Late Shri Ramanath Payyade Memorial Football Tournament 2017-18, organised by the Karnatak Sporting Association and played at the KSA ground, Cross Maidan.
Udaya dominated play from the beginning and Castelino hit the target in the 15th minute to give his team a slender 1-0 half-time lead. The nippy striker Castelino doubled the lead with another strike in the 50th minute to seal the victory.
In the second match, Bombay Fort SC and Kanara Bros SC were engaged in a exciting, high-scoring 3-3 draw. Akshaya Agarwal got a brace of goals and Pranav Shetty one for Bombay Fort while Kanara Bros scored a goal each through Tarang Manjeshwar, Aakash Rathod and Siddu Pawar to force a draw.
Results: Udaya SC 2 (Oliver Castelino 2) beat Jai Bharat SC 0.
Bombay Fort SC 3 (Akshaya Agarwal 2, Pranav Shetty) drew with Kanara Bros SC 3 (Tarang Manjeshwar, Aakash Rathod, Siddu Pawar).
