Known for his famous dialogue’ Jab Yeh Dhai kilo ka haath kisi Pe PadtaH na … Toh Aadmi Uthta Nahi … Utth Jata Hai” from the film ‘Damini’ , Sunny Deol had already proved his strength in another super hit film ‘Ghayal’ which was released 1990. Now, Sunny Deol has not only turned a writer, but has also directed the sequel of his film ‘Ghayal’ after 25 years.
The film opens with few scenes from Sunny Deol’s past film through flashbacks, to give an idea of Ajay Mehra’s background. But, after introducing the 4 young brave collegians and their felicitation at the hands of Ajay Mehra, the film introduces the Business giant Raj Bansal( Narendra Jha) his spoiled brat Kabir Bansal (Abhilash Kumar), his other family members and his big empire.
After first half an hour of this introduction, the film actually takes off, with its action filled drama, when the four children find strong evidence of Kabir Bansal killing former DCP and now RTI activist Joe D’souza. And, they are in deep trouble, as the person whom they trust and hand over the evidence, joins hands with Raj Bansal, being a corporate lawyer. He is Mr. kripalani( Sachin Khedekar), father of one of the youngsters. But, one of the students, Zoya( Diana Khan) has already taken a copy on the hard disk and they decide to hand over the same to most trusted man Ajay Mehra, who runs a media group ‘Satyakam’. And, then begins the big chase from road to a mall, with Bansal’s people after the children, till Ajay comes to their rescue. But, this doesn’t stop here. As we see another big chase, with foreigner stuntman and security chief of Raj Bansal chasing Ajay Mehra, to acquire the hard disc, containing the evidence against Bansal’s son. .
Later, we find one twist in the film, to show the emotional side of our action hero Ajay; but the deadly action begins once again, with Ajay taking on the mighty Bansal, in his heroic style, to win his battle . The film scores on account of spellbinding chase scenes, For this film, Sunny Deol , as a film maker has hired Hollywood stunt director Dan Bradley, to present a grand action thriller. With superb cinematography by Ravi Yadav and excellent support coming from a big special effects team, the film is almost on par with any Hollywood action film, as far as the action part is concerned. Sunny Deol is at his best, in the role of Ajay Mehra. Good support comes from all the four youngsters played by talented Shivam Patil as Rohan, Diana Khan as Zoya, Aanchal Munjal as Anushka and Rishabh Arora as Varun. After a long time, Soha Ali Khan returns to big screen, through the role of Dr. Ria, who is shown as a well wisher and friend of Ajay Mehra.
It was also nice to see veterans like Ramesh Deo , OmPuri , Nadira Babbar Neena Kulkarni & Sachin Khedekar in their limited, but effective roles. Fine support also comes from Tisca Chopra, Neha Khan, Abhilash Kumar & Manoj Joshi. But, TV actor Narendra Jha has played the role of selfish and powerful businessman Raj Bansal, very convincingly.
Sunny Deol in the role of director, has managed all other the sequences well, to present his own gripping story, through this inspiring film. Very cleverly, he has shown the power and cruelty of the biggest businessman in the city of Mumbai, with his hold over the state administration and some media houses. At the same time, he has inspired today’s youth, to stand with the truth , even if they have to face the most powerful people. All in all, it is good action thriller and a worth watch. Interestingly, the film has been distributed by Reliance Entertainment.
