Mayuresh Kelkar, Shashank Bisht, Yash Doshi and Suraj Chandrasekhar were among the top-rated players who made it to the Men’s Singles’ Round of 32 in the fifth edition of the 11Sports Corporate Table Tennis championship here on Saturday.

On an action-packed day which saw some of the city’s biggest corporates battling for honours, Mayuresh Kelkar (Indian Express) easily beat the two opponents in his group (Arun Raj 11-8, 11-3) and Amish Chandarna (10-12, 11-4, 11-6) to emerge as the strong favourite for the Men’s Single’s title., while Shashank Bisht of Edelweiss was the other star performer in the same category. He won 11-7, 11-6 against Bhasmang Mankhadi and 11-3, 11-6 against Sumit Sinha.

HDFC Life also established themselves as the team to beat, as their star players Yash Doshi and Suraj Chandrasekhar also recorded handsome victories in the Men’s Singles. Yash trounced Rohit T (11-4, 11-6) and Aditya G (11-4, 11-7) while Suraj also had it easy against Shreshta Sharma (12-10, 11-2) and Vikas Shah (11-2, 11-6).
All the knockout matches, including the semi finals and finals, will be played on Sunday in this event organised by NSportz. Five titles each are up for grabs in the individual events.
