While students in Mumbai were busy singing and dancing to celebrate 2nd day of Ganapati festival, the girls from N.M.College, Mumbai, were busy collecting grains, to pass on those under privileged, who are striving for food. Isn’t that the best community service, to seek the blessings of Ganapati Bappa ? And, they received very good response from the residents of housing societies in Mumbai.
Their motto was clear.”Not everyone is blessed with an Akshaya Patra, like Draupadi, who satisfied Durvasa & his disciples hunger. Not everyone has the boon of being Annapurna. But, collective help in the form of handful of grains, coming from all hands, can satisfy the hunger of those , who are starving.”
This is a good precedent set by girl students of N.M.College, which should inspire, students from other colleges in city. They can very well convince people not to spend money on firecrackers coming Diwali . Instead donate grains worth that amount, to those needy people, who are starving for food.
