‘Hindi Medium’ offers light entertainment through timely subject
Getting admission for little children is a big tension for the parents. All the parents want their child to study in the best school, whether they live in metro city or town. In India, educational institutes have become commercial centres, making it difficult for the parents to seek admissions for their kids.
Latest released Hindi film ‘Hindi Medium’ highlights the sufferings a couple has to undergo to get admission of their only daughter in the best school in Delhi. And the process through which they run from pillar to post, is an eye opener for those who think that money can buy anything. Written by Zeenat Lakhani & Saket Choudhary and directed by Saket Choudhary, the film is a remake of Malayalam film Salt Mango Tree, which in turn is a remake of the Bengali film Ramdhanu.
Through this film, the director has highlighted simultaneously , the other aspects of society, by showing how a poor man who shows the way to the lead couple in this film. The film also ends with a timely message, clearly indicating that the purpose of education is to make a good human being and not a self centred person.
Performances by all the lead artistes are so natural that you feel they are real life characters, seen in your neighbourhood. Besides Irrfan Khan and Saba Qamar, good support also comes from Amrita Singh, Deepak Dobriyal and others. The film should have been cut short by at least 15 minutes in post interval session. Background music of Amar Mohile is impressive. Surely, a must watch film for young parents and their children.
