“I Inhale Nature And Exhale Music”- Abhishek Ray


 

Composer-singer, wildlife activist Abhishek Ray has a smile of satisfaction after winning the Mirchi Music Awards for the best non-film song of the year Aye-Jahaan Aasmaan sung by Shreya Ghoshal & Sonu Nigam. “My songs are like jewels trapped in a cage and this year onwards , I have decided to open the door so that my melodies can fly high and not be dependent only on Bollywood”, says Ray.Music

 

Abhishek shot to fame for the music of cult cinema like Paan Singh Tomar, I am Kalam,Saheb Biwi Aur Gangster as well as commercial films like Welcome Back, Yeh Saali Zindagi etc.

 

He began 2017 by composing all the melodious songs of the Nana Patekar, Mahie Gill starrer “Wedding Anniversary”. The music of this romantic thriller ran into different genres from EDM, jazz, romantic waltz, thumri, lounge and got rave reviews.

 

The second nomination at Mirchi Award s was again his song ‘Yeh Dil’ written by the legendary Gulzar and sung by Hariharan. He released eleven singles last year with the best of Bollywood namely Gulzar, Shreya Ghoshal, Alka Yagnik, Hariharan, Udit Narayan etc and has more in the pipeline with Sukhwinder, Sonu Nigam, Kavita Krishnamurthy coming up soon .

 

Abhishek Ray was also chosen by the Times Now Good Crusaders campaign recently for his path breaking work in Wildlife conservation. He invested all his savings in rewinding an entire Hill and converting it into Sitabani Wildlife Reserve. He planted hundreds of fruiting trees and made a perennial water body for the tiger-leopard population of the area adjacent to Corbett National Park.

 

Currently he has his hands full composing pure melodies for 3 films and defending the fast vanishing wildlife of India.
