Indian FC and Kalina Village Boys (Red), both produced determined fighting performances and managed to narrowly win their respective semi-final encounters to set up a clash in the Men’s Open final, of the 16th Kalina Football League (KFL), organised by the Our Lady of Egypt Parish Church Sports Committee, and played at the Our Lady of Egypt Church ground, Kalina.
Sumeet Kuvekar, scored the crucial winning goal for Indian FC
In absorbing and keenly contested semi-final matches, Indian FC did well to eke out a tight 1-0 win against Kalina Rangers and Kalina Village Boys beat back a strong challenge from FC Kolovery to snatch a thrilling 3-2 victory.
Young striker Sumeet Kuvekar netted the all-important winning goal which confirmed Indian FC’s victory and their passage to the title round.
Kalina Village Boys were well-served by Eric Dowling, Sheldon Sharma and Dan Dias, all contributing a goal each to secure the win, while FC Kolovery scored through their consistent goal-scorer Russell Galbano and Bhomeet Vakharia.
