Jeet Patil of MSP (Mulund Swimming pool) and Ananya Nayak from Ozone (Goregaon) set the pool on fire as they made clean sweep of all the five events in their respective boys and girls under-9 section in the GAF-Greater Mumbai Amateur Aquatic Association (GMAAA)’s Annual Lower age group Aquatic Meet at Glenmark Aquatic Foundation-managed District Sports Complex’s swimming pool at Dharvi on Sunday. They grabbed gold in the free Style, back stroke, breast stroke, butterfly – all in the 50m events- as well as 100m individual medlay events.
Winners of the lower-age groups in the GAF-Greater Mumbai Amateur Aquatic Meet, flanked by the GMAAA president Mr Zarir Balliwala and Secretary General Pradeep Divgikar.
Joining their party were under-8 girl Siya Devrukhkar of CSMSS (Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj Smarak Sangh) with 4 golds and Archit Morvekar MLWB (Maharashtra Labourf Welfare Board) with three golds and a silver in the 50m back stroke, while under-7 boys was dominated by Shray Bhalla from Andheri’s Celebrations Club. He triumphed in the 50m back stroke, breast stroke and freestyle events, and had to settle for a silver in the butterfly event.
