Kush,Varun stars of Cambridge win


Khush Govil and Varun Singh were the heroes in Cambridge (Kandivali)’s thumping 5-0 win over Pawar Public (Bhandup) in the DSO Mumbai Suburban District level  Inter-School Football Tournament, held at St Francis D’Assisi Ground Borivali today.

After Adil Singh gave Cambridge the lead early on, it was Khush who struck midway as they led 2-0at half time. Even after the break Khush continued to show his mettle and added another. And later on, Varun Singh took over and scored twice towards the end to put to end Pawar Public’s misery.

In the boys under-19 tie, fancied St. Francis D’Assisi,  though playing at home, were stretched to the hilt before they could subdue Malad’s BSGD junior College 5-3 via tie-breaker after both were locked at 1-1 at the regulation period. While Thakur  Junior College, thanks to brace by Mithlesh Kasare,  defeated Prabhadevi Dalmia Jr College 4-0.
