Leah Poonawalla hat-trick powers Bodyline FC to big win


Striker Leah Poonawalla was in the best of scoring form as she scored a fine hat-trick in leading Bodyline FC to a convincing 5-0 win against St. Jude’s SC in a women’s first round match of the 25th Bandra Gymkhana Open Rink Football Tournament and played under floodlights at the Demonte Park Recreational Ground, Bandra. Besides Leah’s brilliant efforts her teammates Kimberly Fernandes and Riya D’Souza netted netted one each to round off the winning tally.

In another match, Football School of India rode on Pooja Dhumal’s lone strike to overcome Companeroes SC by a narrow 1-0 margin to advance to the second round.

 

In a men’s veterans first round match, Golden Boys, Malad proved too good as they blanked Holy Cross, Vakola 3-0. For the Malad outfit, Karan Sawant scored a brace of goals and Kunal Nagvekar got one to seal the win.
