The Pink City of Jaipur turned out to be lucky for Mangal Saraf from Mumbai, as she not only bagged triple crown in the Veterans National Table Tennis Championship there, but her Singles title turned out to be her 9th National title. Being a winner at last year’s National championship in Pune, Mangal was all set to defend her title and the former BMC Officer retained her title beating Jyotsnaben Joshi from Gujarat. Partnerining Dinkar Selarka in Mixed doubles and Manisha Bodas in Women’s doubles Mangal proudly posed with her three Gold medals and trophies after the prize distribution function.
Mangal is very passionate about this game of Table Tennis and finds plenty of time to practice daily, besides coaching young upcoming players from Mumbai.
“I have devoted my heart to this game and I am serious when I go to the table to play this game. Whether it is practice or match, it does not matter for me, as I remain focused to win every point.” Last year , Mangal also won the South Asian TT Championship held in Sri Lanka last year and is now all set to play in the forthcoming World Veterans’ Championship to be held in Las Vegas in June 2018. Magzmumbai wishes her all the best.
