MCC (Blue) retain Twister Trophy


Left arm spinner Ganesh Aiwe bowled with tremendous guile (4/18) as defending champions MCC (Blue) defeated MCC (Red) by 7 wickets in the final of the  Twister-MCC-Pro40 League-season-3 at the Oval Maidan here today.

Defending champions MCC (Blue) asserted themselves once again by beating MCC (Red)  by 7 wickets in the final, pose with  Ms Kalpana Poddar (Director, Twisters) and  guest of honour Divyesh Masruwala and Mr Jwala Singh, the chief organizer and director MCC.

MCC (Red), opting to bat first, made a mess of their decision, as none of the top batsmen could counter neither the pace nor  the spin attack of MCC (Blue) and were bowled out for 101 with Ganesh Aiwe being their main tormentor. Chasing the victory target of 102, MCC (Blue)’s openers skipper Mukesh Gupta (n.o. 30) and Managir Gupta (44) put on 60 runs, which paved the way for their easy win as they were home with seven wickets to spare. Ms Kalpana Poddar, director of Twisters, gave away the trophies.

The individual prize winners were: Man-of-the-match of the final: Ganesh Aiwe (4/18).  Best batsman: Yashasvi Jaiswal (348 in 6 matches). Best Bowler: Sujeet Kanojia (22 wkts in 7 matches). Man of the Series: Yashasvi Jaiswal ( 348 runs and 11 wkts.).
