Chennai Super Kings Captain M.S.Dhoni must have blamed himself, for electing to field first, after winning the toss. As, we saw Mumbai Indians taking full advantage of the situation, by keeping an average of 10 right from the 2nd over onwards, inspite of losing an early wicket of Parthiv Patel in the first over.

The good partnership for the second wicket between Lendl Simmons and Rohit Sharma helped Mumbai indians to be in a comfortable position. And, that boosted the morale of rest of the batsmen to set a huge target of 203 runs, for their opponents to win.

In reply, the Super kings openbing pair just could not manage to maintain a good scoring rate and took almost 13 overs to reach 100. As last 5 overs were left, Chennai team had to score 18 runs per over, which was more than difficult target for them. With quick falling of wickets and with departure of their captain, Mumbai Indians had already ensured their victory in the 17th over . And, finally they won by 41 runs to lift the IPLT20 trophy for the second time in IPL.

For Mumbai Indians, all the players showed excellent team spirit, under the able captaincy of Rohit Sharma.
