Ramesh Singh scores hat-trick


Fleet Footers riding on Ramesh Singh’s fine hat-trick tamed Tigers SF by a thumping 5-0 margin in a round-5 match of the 2nd Borivali Premier Football League (BPFL), organized under the auspices of the MDFA by the Borivali Sports Foundation and played at the St. Francis D’Assisi Ground, Borivali (W).

Showing good understanding and working as a unit Fleet Footers dominated play from the start and striker Ramesh scored the first goal in the 18th minute, which opened the floodgates. Three minutes later Tushar Poojary doubled the lead and he added the third goal in the 28th minute as Fleet Footers went into the break with a healthy 3-0 lead. On resumption, Ramesh struck two quick goals in the 40th and 50th minutes to complete the margin of victory. Ramesh was named winner of the ‘Big Boss Player of the Match’ award.

Maryland United SC recorded an identical 5-0 win against Challengers FC in another round-5 league encounter. Johnson Mathews and Collin Abranches netted a brace of goals each while Dane Pereira got one to round off the victory tally. Mathews Johnson of Maryland United won the ‘Big Boss Player of the Match’ award.
