With big hopes and dreams in her eyes, a beautiful talented collegian from Belgaum came to Mumbai. She joined Ruparel College; so that she would be able to take up acting assignments, in films. Luckily for her, she had previous experience of performing in Hindi films, as a child actress. Another advantage with this stage actress was that her mother herself was a film maker. So, when Veena Lokur, launched her daughter in Marathi films, through her own film ‘Platform’, Sai was studying in college.

After, ‘Platform’, Sai did get few assignments in Marathi like ‘Mee Aani U’ opposite Bhushan Pradhan and then in multi starrer film ‘No Entry Pudhe Dhoka aahe’, the multi starrer remake of Bollywood film ‘No Entry’. In all these films, Sai performed well, so as to invite the attention of other Marathi film makers. But, none of the Marathi film makers found her suitable for their films. With no work, Sai turned to television, accepting an offer from a television reality show.

There was a time, when she really felt hurt; but, she did not give up. Somebody has rightly said, ;’Where there is a will, there is a way’. In the case of Sai, it was almost like ‘Sunshine after tears’, when she found a suitable role in Bollywood film,’Kis Kisko Pyar karoon’ and that too opposite popular television celebrity like Kapil Sharma, who was making his debut in Hindi films. What was more important, that this film is directed by Abbas Mastan, duo, who had attempted a comedy this time. In this film, Arbaaz Khan is playing the brother of Sai, thus making her more happy, for performing with two big celebrities at a time. The film has become a hit and doing good business in 2nd week now.
For talented and charming Sai Lokur, this is a big news. Marathi film industry’s ignorance, is Bollywood’s gain . Isn’t it ?
