Sailing Regatta from Aug 25


The Little Bay Sailing and Rowing Club will be conducting the ‘Wet n Wild Regatta’, an annual sailing event, at the Pavana Reservoir, Lonavala from August 25 to 28, 2016.

 

The Organising Authority of the event is the Corps of Engineers Sailing Club (CESC) in conjunction with the 420 Class Association of India, Little Bay Sailing & Rowing Club (LBSRC) and the Sailing Association of Maharashtra (SAM).

 

The participants of the regatta will be competing in the following events – 420 Class for men & women (All India Inland Championship 2016, national ranking event); Sail Board for men & women (All India Inland Championship 2016, national ranking event); Topper Class – Open category (All India Inland Championship 2016, national ranking event); 470 Class – Open category; Enterprise Class – Open category; Laser Standard – for Men; Laser Radial – Open category; Kite Board – Open category.

 

The Organising Authority will conduct the Optimist All India Inland Championship 2016 on the same dates at Lake Pavana.

 

The regatta will consist of a series of races, with a minimum of 4 races to be completed. There will be a maximum of 4 races per class on each day. The courses will be windward /leeward or trapezoid or any special courses as may be designated for the Kite Board event. Medals will be awarded to the top 3 boats in each event.

 

Apart from the races the club is open for outdoor enthusiasts who can enjoy activities like Trial Biking, Kayaking and Sailing during the weekends. The entry fee is Rs 500 per day and Rs 1500 per day.
