This was the second year of ‘Street Konnect’ festival, hosted by residents of Thakur Village, kandivali( East) last Sunday. The organizers, comprising of majority of women folks, worked a month in advance, for the smooth conduct of this event. Some of the active members of the organizing team, didn’t even sleep during the night before the event, as they were given only eight hours to arrange everything for the event, which was scheduled next morning between 7 am and 12 noon.
But, everything went on very well. This year, there were more events in Appreciation zone. There were workshops held for Kathak , DJ, Playback theatre, belly dancing ,art, Yoga, Drum Café, besides Parent and child workshop.
The highlight of this event was the talk given by special guest Auto Rickshaw man from Ahmedabad, Mr. Uday Bhai, who has been offering many facilities to his commuters. There were many other things about this person, which inspired the audience present at this event.
According to many visitors,there were many things to learn through this event, besides entertainment. There were no corporate sponsors for this event. The entire event was oraganised by the entusiastic residents of Thakur Village for the people in the city of Mumbai.
