When Laxman ( Salman Khan) and his younger brother Bharat ( Sohail Khan) attain adulthood, they develop strong boding between them. One day a magician( Shahrukh Khan)  comes to their village and picks up Laxman to perform one experiment to show the spectators the power of mind inbuilt in a person. So, through this successful experiment on him, Laxman learns self confidence to do anything, which he used to feel impossible . In the meanwhile, his elder brother Bharat joins Indian army, as there is recruitment for the same, due to Indo-China war.

Laxman practices a different theory. He becomes friendly with a young Chinese  woman(Zhu Zhu), and her little son Gu (Matin Rey Tangu ) living in the village, in spite of opposition from some people. When time comes, he also performs his experiment of mind power, when he is challenged to shake the mountain. Laxman does it , with the occurrence of a real earthquake in that region. He also succeeds in stopping the war with his experiment of mind power. All is well at the end.

With this limited content, the film does create some humour to offer typical entertainment, but due to its weak plot, the film fails to appeal. Only good part of this film are few emotion filled  sequences and the sequence involving  Shahrukh Khan and Salman Khan which inspires youngsters to develop self confidence in them.  Music of this film is good in parts, with only 2 songs worth appreciating. The biggest problem with this film is the presentation of screenplay, which also fails to keep the audience engaged. Performances of Salman Khan and Sohail Khan are good with good support coming from other artistes. But, all in all, with a weak plot ‘Tubelight’ offers limited entertainment.
