The film has already been dubbed as one of the top 10 films to watch out for by many who have had a glimpse of this Yoodlee Films’ venture. It has now also turned a Festival favourite with two of the coveted ones selecting it to compete with some of the best films across the world this year.
To begin with AJJI will have a world premiere at the prestigious Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) on 13th October in the New Currents competition and to be judged by a jury headed by eminent filmmaker Oliver Stone. Later, on the same day it will be competing at the India Gold section for Indian feature films, at MAMI. We hope Friday the 13th turns lucky for this hard hitting film from the house of Yoodlee!
The whirlwind created by this story about a grandmother’s revenge for the rape of her 9 year old granddaughter will then move to the coveted Black Nights Film Festival at Tallinn, Estonia where films like BLACK FRIDAY have been showcased in the past.
Speaking about the reactions they are already getting, director Devashish sheds the grim-mood of the film for a smile, “Fairy tales are all written metaphorically, and this one specifically holds a lot of reason today.
