‘Wazir’presents an action packed revenge story

Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s latest film ‘Wazir’ directed by Bejoy Nambiar is an action packed thriller, which tells the story of  two bizarre friends , a  wheelchair-bound chess grandmaster Pandit Omkarnath Dhar  and a grief-stricken ATS officer Daanish Ali ( Farhan Akhtar) . Actually, they meet each other, as both of them have the same enemy  in Welfare Minister Yazaad Qureshi (Manav Kaul), who is responsible for the killing of their daughters.Wazir cropped poster

The plot of the film is well executed, with interesting happenings and holding the suspense till the end. The game of chess is a recurring metaphor , cleverly used by the director and it forms the backbone of the film’s story. Besides the well presented screenplay, the dialogues of the film are aptly written.  As expected, Mr. Amitabh Bachchan plays his role with complete understanding of every situation and has given a wonderful performance.

Farhan Akhtar also excels , while presenting his most important character. Aditi Rao Hyderi doesn’t find much scope in this film; but, she has played her role convincingly. Manav Kaul as the villain of this film is good; but John Abraham in special appearance impresses through that small role towards the climax. Neil Nitin Mukesh is a waste in this film.
