Ranveer Singh, today’s Youth Icon  and the Superstar par excellence has come forward to support the Event, which will be held at the Otters Club, from 29th Sep to 2nd Oct. He will be the Guest of Honour at the prize distribution ceremony on 2nd October. Not just that, he will also play a friendly game with one of the young women players that day!!

“In a year when our Indian female athletes have done the country proud at both Olympics and Para Olympics, I believe our women Squash players also have it in them to be on top. I compliment the Indian Squash Circuit for their efforts and urge everyone to support them. With some of the World’s best players leading the marquee at the JSW Indian Squash Circuit 2016 Otters International, I’m sure there is a significant and untapped opportunity to build interest and engagement of potential women players with this sport through tournaments like this one. ” says Ranveer.

At a time when sports like Squash need all the support that they can garner competing against their more commercial counterparts, Ranveer’s gesture has come as a BIG boost for the Indian Squash Circuit (ISC), that has been working tirelessly since its inception in 2014 to give young Indian players a chance to play against the best in the World, at home.

Speaking on this development, Ritwik Bhattacharya, the 5 times Indian National Squash Champion and the promoter of the ISC said, ” The Indian Squash Circuit is extremely delighted to have Ranveer on board the JSW Indian Squash Circuit 2016 Otters International. When youth icons like him come forward to support, it makes the invaluable difference by getting the media and public focus in a way that encourages both, the participating (and potential) players as well as the audience. We are very grateful to him for his support. ”

JSW Indian Squash Circuit 2016 Otters International, the highest prize money (US $35,000) W35 Women’s Tournament, is supported by the JSW Group and will feature some of the best women squash players from the Professional Squash Association (PSA) World Tour; with confirmed participation of 4 players from the Top 20 in the World including India’s Joshana Chinappa (World No 11) and Dipika Pallikal (world No 17).
