The new National Education Policy has been announced by our Central Government. Speaking about the benefits of this new policy, Hon. Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi has explained how this National Education Policy ( NEP) 2020 will lay the foundation of a new India.
According to PM, the highlights of this new policy are :
1) It aims to transform the intent and content of education sector.
2) It focuses on shifting the burden of school bag to the boon of learning.
3) It will focus on integrating ‘local’ with ‘global’.
4) It aims at making the youth ‘future ready’ while focusing on national goals.
5) It will ensure that students become global citizens while remaining connected to their roots.
6) It aims to shift focus from ‘What to think’ to ‘How to think’.
7) Higher education institutions need to be empowered through Autonomy.
8) There is great emphasis on teacher training in this policy.
