Remember Disco Dancer, the film that catapulted Mithunda to iconic status? Or Adventures of Tarzan that made Kimi Katkar the poster girl of the nation? The good news is that Swetha, the daughter of the prolific hit director, B. Subhash who directed the above mentioned two films, is all set to direct The Magic Chest – A web series for teenagers based on the popular books by Manoj Vaz.

Published during the lockdown, the books THE KIDNAPPING and THE METH MYSTERY (both part of the Magic Chest Series) have five smart school going kids in Suburban Mumbai solving crimes that baffle the local cops.

“Each book is written as a season of 10 episodes, and I plan to write 8 more in the series. The 12-18-year audience is the smartest, most internet and gadget savvy audience in India. I believe that with Swetha at the directorial helm, we have a streaming blockbuster in our hands,” the almost reclusive author commented.Magic Chest Combined

“I have known Manoj Sir for a very long time and he is one of the finest writers of this era. I fell in love with the books the minute I read it. We have not yet finalized the OTT platform that we will launch the series on and are open to offers.” Swetha added.
