‘420 IPC’ – An engrossing Courtroom drama

The title of this film ‘420 IPC’ itself clearly suggests that it deals with a case of fraud, which will be heard in the courtroom, like many of our past films on this subject. But, ‘420 IPC’ has a different way of looking at this case. And that makes this film look different from others. In this film, at the initial stage we find Bansi Keswani ( Vinay Pathak) a chartered accountant by profession, being accused of cheating his builder client Neeraj Sinha ( Arif Zakaria) for Rs. 1.5 Crore, by fraudulently signing three cheques in his favour.IPC film

Pleading himself ‘not guilty’, Bansi and his wife Pooja Keswani( Gul Panag) engage a young lawyer Birbal Choudhary ( Rohan Vivod Mehra), who fights his case in the court,  against Public Prosecutor Savak Jamshedji ( Ranvir Shorey). In the court arguments, Birbal tries his best to prove Bansi ‘not guilty’ and is almost close to finish;  but the experienced Savak Jamshedji snatches that chance from him. However, Birbal doesn’t give up. He seeks help from his Police Officer Girlfriend and other friend from Computer field and this time he is able to find something more interesting.

In an interesting climax, you notice unveiling of a bigger fraud . In short, this 1 hour 40 minutes length film presented by Zee Studios and directed by Manish Gupta keeps you engaged from start to finish. Performances are the best from all leading artistes. Certainly an engrossing film which is a  worth watch . Available on Zee 5 .
