Selfless Social Worker Vasudeo Bhagnani Felicitated in Thane


81 year old Vashudev Bhagnani a resident of Thane was recently felicitated by the Maharashtra Rajya Sindhi Sahitya Academy , Mumbai, in association with Sindhi Council of India, Mumbai for his selfless services for the enrichment of the Sindhi Community. The felicitation ceremony took place during the exclusive Sindhi variety entertainment programme ‘HOJMALO’ held at Kashinath Ghanekar Auditorium , Thane. It was a Government sponsored programme as a part of 75 years of India’s independence, as initiated by our Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi.

It may be recalled that Vasudeo Bhagnani retired as General Manager from the Reserve Bank of India and after that for the past twenty years he has been offering his selfless services to the society. He has been offering accupressure therapy to needy people at the Sant Panjooram Accupressure Centre at Parsiwadi, Thane East. Earlier, while working in RBI , besides managing his responsible duties, Mr. Bhagnani also played Table Tennis for the RBI team and contributed to his team’s success in winning many trophies at local and all India level. Later, he also served as International TT Umpire.

At the age of 81, he is still active with his social commitment, which is really admirable. Reacting to this award for his service to the society, Mr. Bhagnani attributed the credit of his work, to his entire team at the Accupressure centre . “All sportspersons are aware of the importance of team work and this has helped me to associate myself with all those involved in this work.”  Mr. Bhagnani visits the centre during morning hours, five days a week to offer his services. He has been doing this selfless service for the past 20 years.
