For the past ten years he has tried his best to offer a variety of characters through a dozen of Hindi films and has successfully tried to remain in the limelight with the help of his acting skills. His latest film ‘Freddy’, produced by Ekta Kapoor, Shobha Kapoor, Jay Shewakramani and Gaurav Bose has turned out to be a special film for him, as this Gwalior born actor finds enough scope to prove his mettle. Kartik Aaryan has indeed given a superb performance in this film in the title role, through his difficult character of Dr. Freddy Ginwala a young dental surgeon.
In this film Kartik plays a shy young man, who at the insistence of his aunty tries to find a suitable life partner for him through a marriage bureau. He is not able to find one, as the girls reject him for his simple behaviour and lack of communication skills, as expected by them in the modern time. One day, at the suggestion of his aunt, he approaches a pretty young girl Kainaaz ( Alaya Furniturewala) at a party. She turns out to be a married woman, as her husband appears on the spot and thrashes Freddy for his advances towards her. Next day, the same woman appears in the clinic of Freddy for dental treatment and then begins their new chapter in Freddy’s life.
Freddy learns that Kainaaz is a victim of domestic violence and hence suggests Kainaaz to divorce her restaurant owner husband. She dosent agree to this proposal and hence Freddy goes ahead with his own plans to achieve her as his life partner. He lands into big trouble. How he tries to face this situation is what this thriller is all about. Written by Parveez Shaikh, the plot of this film is filled with unexpected twists and turns in the screenplay, well handled by director Shashanka Ghosh with the help of perfect editing work of Chandan Arora. Superb cinematography by Ayanaka Bose and well supported music by Pritam offer good support to this well presented gripping film.
Besides the best performance by lead actor Kartik, who has totally dedicated himself to his character; equally satisfying performance comes from pretty Alaya( daughter of Pooja Bedi and grand daughter of Kabir Bedi). She has terrific screen presence in every important scene of this film. Good support comes from other artistes like Sajjad Delafroz, Karan pandit,Harshika Kewalramani and Tripti Agarwal in other important roles. Certainly, a worth watch film for all those adult action film lovers. Released on Disney +Hotstar.
