Produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak and Abhishek Pathak, directed by by Ajay Bahl, this 2019 Hindi film ‘Section 375’ is inviting the attention of film lovers on Amazon Prime Video. This film presents a sensational court room drama about a high profile case. Rohan Khurana( Rahul Bhat) a celebrated Bollywood director stands accused of rape, by a crew member of his unit Anjali Dangle ( Meera Chopra) who is an assistant dress designer .
The case draws a media trial, during the proceedings of the case in the court of Law, between criminal lawyer Tarun Saluja ( Akshaye Khanna) representing the accused and the Social activist & prosecutor Hiral Gandhi ( Richa Chadda) representing the victim. The heated arguments between the lawyers produce undisputable evidence, proving their respective client innocent. The court proceedings take place in presence of Rohan Khurana’s wife Kainaz Khurana( Shriswaraa).
Time comes, when the Bench of two judges ( Kishore Kadam & Kruttika Desai) have to deliver their verdict. ‘Section 375’ which deals with an important issue i.e. Marzi Ya Zabardasti’ in this particular rape case, keeps the viewers engaged with the well presented screenplay, with minute details. The performances of all the lead artistes are good, in this songless courtroom drama, which also exposes the casting couch existing in Bollywood.
