It looks like that our Hindi film makers are in search of new love stories, to attract the audience. Latest Hindi film ‘Ek Din’which was officially released in theatres in May 2026, has now been released on Amazon Prime OTT channel very recently. Produced under the banner of Aamir Khan productions and directed by Sunil Pandey, this unique love story is the remake of 2016 award winning Thai film ‘One Day’.
It was obvious that Aamir Khan was looking for a suitable story based character for Junaid and he found the same in this film’s story. Moreover, most of the film has been shot in Sapporo, Japan, a new location to exploit the snowy landscape, which is most suitable for a love story.
Though based on a new type of love story, the focus is not more on songs, which utilize around 23 minutes out of this 125 minutes long film. But, this One day love story taking place after that untimely happening, which has been presented through this film, is a good concept. Moreover, the lead artistes namely Sai Pallavi, (the south actress who makes her debut in Hindi films through this film), Junaid Khan, Kunal Kapoor and others have given natural performances, suited to their respective characters. Cinematography by Manoj Lobo is a visual pleasure. And , above all, good direction by Sunul Pandey, makes this film a worth watch.
