Dadar School opens gateway to future technology with AI, Mathematics & Robotics Lab!

In a significant step towards future-ready education, Chhabildas English Medium School (CBSE Affiliated), Dadar West, has inaugurated a state-of-the-art AI, Mathematics & Robotics Lab, giving students an opportunity to learn emerging technologies through hands-on experimentation and practical projects.

The laboratory was inaugurated on Sunday by noted actor, director and producer Ajit Bhure, in the presence of Shailendra Salvi, Chairman, General Education Institute; Dr Amey Pangarkar, Consultant – Artificial Intelligence & Robotics; Komal Kadve, Principal, Chhabildas English Medium School, along with trustees, directors, teachers, students, parents and alumni.

Established in 1892, the General Education Institute has added advanced technology-based learning to its long educational legacy through this initiative. The laboratory is designed to encourage students to question, experiment, innovate and create, rather than simply depend on ready-made solutions.

90 hands-on technology projects

A major highlight of the new laboratory is its extensive collection of 90 hands-on projects based on Raspberry Pi, Arduino and Internet of Things (IoT).

The projects cover practical applications such as temperature and humidity monitoring, weather monitoring, security systems, motion detection, soil moisture monitoring, gas detection, RFID, light control, parking systems, water-level monitoring and sensor-based applications.

Students will also be introduced to Python programming, logic building, electronics, drone assembly, artificial intelligence concepts and IoT applications, providing them with an opportunity to move from theoretical learning to practical problem-solving.

The laboratory’s demonstrations and presentation were conducted by Dr Amey Pangarkar, Consultant in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics.

Focus on curiosity and innovation

The central philosophy behind the initiative is to nurture curiosity rather than develop a dependence on easy and quick answers.

The school aims to encourage students to ask questions such as “Why?”, “How?” and “What else can we create?” and then transform their ideas into working models and projects.

The initiative follows the theme:

“DREAM HERE • EXCEL EVERYWHERE”

According to the school, the objective is not merely to teach students how to use technology, but to develop their logical thinking, creativity, problem-solving abilities, scientific temperament and innovation skills.

Classrooms also receive a technology makeover

The school has simultaneously upgraded its classrooms with modern learning facilities. The classrooms now feature digital boards, screens, sound systems, modern furniture, creative wall designs, contemporary colour schemes and other educational infrastructure, creating a more engaging learning environment for students.

The inauguration event also featured live demonstrations of robots, a humanoid robot, drones and other mechanical devices, which generated considerable excitement and curiosity among students and parents.

Students interacted with Dr Pangarkar and raised questions about Artificial Intelligence and Robotics. He also explained how AI can be used appropriately, creatively and responsibly, while encouraging students to explore technology with curiosity and awareness.

Ajit Bhure, who inaugurated the laboratory, said: “Children should not limit themselves to learning from textbooks. They must be encouraged to ask questions, experiment and create something of their own. The curiosity and excitement visible among the students here is the real strength of this initiative. Experiential education of this kind is essential for preparing the next generation.”

The event was attended by Ravindra Tamras, Treasurer; Aarti Raut, Director; Vijay Padhye, alumnus, along with several former and current students, directors, teachers and non-teaching staff.
