Manjul Bharadwaj’s ‘Unheard Sounds of Universe’ is a thought provoking multilingual play

Well known scientist and former President of India  A. P. J. Abdul Kalam, has said, “Look at the sky. We are not alone. The whole universe is friendly to us and conspires only to give the best to those, who dream and work.” But, how many of us have really thought over the essence of this quote?  Does anyone find time, to look at the sky? Today, while travelling in the midst of heavy traffic, we only hear the sound of blowing horns, sound of mobile ringtones, loud mouth RJ’s talking ,more than playing the songs on the stereo player of the cars. People are habituated with this kind of life, where sitting in air conditioned offices, they are totally unaware of  the happenings around.

Today, new born babies are more familiar with mobile tones , then hearing the chirping of birds.  Sleeping in the air conditioned homes, people rarely notice the first rays of sun. Nobody has time to listen to the sound of water flowing through  the river and sound of air passing through the branches of the tree. Instead of taking their little children to a park on the outskirts of the city, during week ends, people living in metros, prefer to spend their time in Malls and multiplexes. As you sow, so shall you reap. Every living being derives energy from the nature. But, do people stay connected with the nature?

Actor-director Manjul Bharadwaj, known for his thought provoking Hindi and English plays, over the years, is now presenting another wonderful multilingual creation ‘Unheard Sounds of Universe’ under the banner of The Experimental Theatre Foundation. On Thursday afternoon, Manjul Bharadwaj had held the final rehearsal of this play, which will staged with its inaugural  show in Mumbai,  on Friday 29th May 2015. This show will be held at 4.30 pm in Ravindra Natya Mandir’s Mini Theatre.

Having himself written the script of this play, Manjul has paid more attention on the present lifestyle of the people and their ignorance about preserving the environment. Very intelligently explaining the philosophy of the five elements in the universe, the director has tried to explain through each character, what does Mother earth expect  from every human being, living on the earth. References are made to the materialistic living  of people today.

Right to survive in this world, doesn’t mean that they should take the nature for granted. The director through his script, is more critical about the existing Devil’s law. There are hard hitting dialogues to create awareness.  He reminds you about Albert Einstein’s famous quote, “Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I’m not sure about the former.” Above all, the performances of all the artistes in this play, display a good team spirit, under the captaincy of Manjul Bharadwaj.  And, they are Yogini Chouk, a well known stage & TV actress, along with promising stage artistes  Ashwini Nandedkar, Sandesh, Saili Pawaskar, Tushar Mhaske, Vaishali Bhosale, Komal Khamkar & Amit Diondyi.

‘Unheard Sounds of Universe’ is sure to create waves among the real experimental theatre lovers, for its classic universal approach, to deliver, what is required to remind every ‘human being’ his or her duty , in day to day life. Certainly, a worth watch. Don’t miss it. Don’t be surprised, if this play goes worldwide, to invite the attention of  the people across the globe.
