Rajiv Kapoor the youngest son of legendary actor and film maker Raj Kapoor passed away today after suffering from massive heart attack. He was admitted to a hospital in Chembur by his elder brother Randhir Kapoor, but was declared dead on admission.
Popularly known as Chimpu, as a lead actor he gave one super hit film ‘Ram Teri Ganga Maili’, besides performing in various other films like ‘Lava’, ‘Zalzala’ ‘Ek Jaan Hai Hum’, ‘Aasmaan’,’ ‘Lover Boy’ & ‘Hum Toh Chale Pardes’. Rajiv also produced two films ‘Henna’ & ‘Prem Granth’ both starring his elder brother Rishi Kapoor and also directed Rishi’s film ‘Aa Ab Lout Chalen’. He married architect Aarti Sabharwal in 2001, but their marriage did not last longer. He made his last appearance in the film ‘Zimmedar’ in 1990, after which he focussed his attention on production and direction.
