John Abraham has always been part of action packed thrillers, especially those which presented him as a brave man fighting the terrorists. Such roles have always suited him the most being a strong man with a perfect physique. His latest released film ‘Attack Part 1’ presents him in the role of a Super Soldier as part of an artificial intelligence, a concept in Hindi cinema. And, this is a tailor made role to suit his personality.

In this film John plays Arjun Shergill an army officer , who is earlier shown on a mission to capture a terrorist. During this successful operation, he saves a suicide bomber from the terrorist camp and lets him go, after difusing the bomb. 12 years later, the same young man turns a dreaded terrorist, who challenges the Indian government, during an attack on parliament. But, little before that we see Arjun’s love story with Ayesha( Jacqueline Fernandez) who dies in an airport terrorist attack, in which John is also severly injured with his body paralysed. It is at this stage, we find an experiment carried out by Scientist Sabah ( Rakul Preet Singh) who invents a chip, which can be implanted in the brain of a paralyzed person to make him work as human robot. Her experiment is used on Arjun, with his consent and that’s how we find a perfect plot for this film with artificial intelligence used for the first time against a terrorist attack on Parliament.
There is no doubt that the idea of making this film has been borrowed from Hollywood films, but the presentation of this film is good, as far as the action and special effects are concerned. However, in this process, the film has given less attention to developing the screenplay and the dialogues are weak. Therefore, only action film lovers, expecially youngsters and fans of John may like this 2 hour length film. Cinematography is too good and so is the background music. John Abraham stands tall with his action based performance. Jacquiline has too little to do, while Rakul preet Singh also has limited scope. Ratna Pathak plays the worried mother of John among the big team of character artistes, who can be seen as defence, government, intelligence officers and Ministers and members of parliament. The film has given a hint that Part 2 of ‘Attack’ will be coming soon. So, there is a good scope for improvisation over those few errors left in part one. All in all, ‘Attack’ is a good action filled film, which is a worth watch on OTT platform now.
