‘Dhadak’ is a poor remake of ‘Sairat’; but, manages good collection

‘Dhadak’ which in English means Heartbeat; is the name of the latest released  Hindi film, which is so called remake of super hit Marathi film ‘Sairat’ released in 2016. Directed by Shashank Khaitan, produced by Dharma Productions and Zee Studios , the film stars newcomer Janhvi Kapoor with Ishaan Khatter in lead roles.  Though  ‘Dhadak’  received negative reviews from critics, for erasing caste references, it was called a poor remake of the original Marathi film.Dhadak

Even otherwise, one never expected a Hindi film maker like Karan Johar to present original theme without any change. Obviously, he needed to market this film as a love story supported by good music and therefore he retained the same music of Ajay Atul, who preferred to play the original tunes using lyrics in Hindi. And his formula seems to have worked, with good collections.

As per the trade report, in the first three days the film has done total collections of Rs. 28 Crore, which is good.
