Have you ever heard of Father , Mother and their son winning multiple medals in the same National Championship ? Recently, we saw this happening at the 44th Indian Masters’ National Badminton Championship held at Jaipur, Rajasthan. Former International Leroy D’sa along with his wife Maria and son Nigel created a new World record winning a total of seven medals.
While son Nigel D’sa won 36+ Men’s Singles Gold and 36+ Men’s doubles Bronze, Leroy won 65+ Men’s doubles Gold along with Shaukat Noor Mohammed and 65+ Mixed Doubles Silver partnering his wife Maria. And Maria besides winning the Mixed doubles Silver also bagged 2 more Bronze medals in Women’s 65+ Singles and Women’s 65+ Mixed doubles.
Incidentally, Maria has also won Bronze medal at Masters TT Nationals which concluded early this year at Sonepat. Isn’t this a big achievement? Magzmumbai congratulates D’sa family and wish them to win many more medals at the international level too.
