Former India footballer Henry Menezes, has a new role to play as the Maharashtra government has appointed him to the governing council of the ‘International Sports University’, which was set up in Pune District recently.

The other prominent sports personalities appointed by the state government to the governing council includes Olympian shooter Anjali Bhagwat, former Test cricketer Nilesh Kulkarni, Indian rugby player Rahul Bose and veteran cricket administrator Prof. Ratnakar Shetty.
The former Indian goalkeeper and WIFA CEO Menezes said, “I am happy to be appointed to the governing council of this new initiative of the Maharashtra government. Early this week, I received the appointment letter signed by state sports commissioner Omprakash Bakoria. The letter informs me that in due course of time I would be appraised about the functioning of the ‘International Sports University’ and my responsibilities.”
