During this ongoing Covid pandemic , the talented composers Lahu- Madhav have come up with a single for their Youtube channel “Lahu Madhav Originals”. So, how different is this song?
“HALLA BOL is a song which has been sung by common people like you and me”, says Lahu. “They are not necessarily singers. They are homemakers, or someone who is into a job at some company, a graphic designer or a chemical engineer; who have all come together to try and inspire others like themselves in this battle against the pandemic,” he added.
“It was just an idea by my wife Hemali, to begin with,” adds Madhav. “But as the idea started taking shape, people from all walks of life supported us to make this slogan song – ‘HALLA BOL’. It was icing on the cake when S.Manasvi, an FTII graduate in direction, offered to produce this video under the banner of Chhavi Creations.”
When contacted, S. Manasvi said, “The idea of the common man singing for the common man appealed to me. It was a song of the people, by the people and for the people.”
S.Manasvi, an alumnus of Film and TV Institute of India, Pune, who made his debut as a director with the film “Love you, Mr.Kalakaar” under the Rajshri Productions’ banner, is also the writer for hit TV serials like Parvarish, Meri Bhabhi and Chhoti Bahu.
“One of the key things in such videos is the editing. I myself edited the video with the limited resources we had, due to the Covid restrictions. And in spite of those restrictions, it was a very fulfilling experience.”
One more interesting feature of the song is that the song will have an online premier on the social media with all the crew members.
This is perhaps their way of saying – Corona can restrict our movement, but not our spirit.
