Pavan Malhotra finds another lifetime role in ‘Tabbar’

Talented actor Pavan Malhotra is lucky enough to find memorable lead roles at 60+. Few months ago we saw him portraying a lifetime role in Hindi Web series ‘Grahan’. And now, he has found another lifetime role in recently released 8 part web series ‘Tabbar’ on Sony Liv . Produced by JAR Pictures, this action filled series is directed by Ajit Pal Singh.Tabaar on Sony Liv

Set on the backdrop of Punjab, this series revolves around Omkar Singh ( Played by Pavan Malhotra) a retired policeman , who takes the law into his hands; only to save his family members from being arrested on the charges of murdering a drug peddler, who happens to be related to an influential politician.

How the family members of Omkar Singh encounter this drug peddler whose murder takes place in their house and later how they defend themselves with the plans of Omkar Singh, is what director has presented with few twists and turns in the screenplay. The plot of this series is inspired by Hindi film ‘Udtaa Punjab’ and few Hindi series on the subject of drug mafias and shows how it affects our society and especially the young generation.

There is no doubt that Pavan Malhotra who heads the cast of this series, has given full justice to his character; but he has received fine support from his versatile co star Supriya Pathak, who has played the role of his wife Sargun Kaur. Supriya has portrayed this most difficult character of a housewife, whose health gets most affected for being  a mute witness to the crimes taking place around her. Both of them also find very good support from other artistes like  Ranvir Shorey, Gagan Arora, Sahil Mehta, Paramveer Cheema, Nupur Nagpal, and Kanwaljit Singh who are in pivotal roles.

Though the plot of this series is not very convincing, director Ajit Pal Singh, has tried to impress with some action filled scenes with the support of good performances coming from all these versatile artistes. There is lot of violence in this series with the usage of rough language, by taking the liberties of OTT platform.
