‘PM Narendra Modi’ presents an inspiring journey of a common man

The much awaited film ‘PM Narendra Modi’ has finally been released this week . In cinema halls it has been receiving a very good response, as  on the very first day with 85% attendance was noticed at PVR’s Growel cinema. Perhaps, the time was just right to celebrate his grand victory in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections. And therefore, this film has been thebest gift to him for leading  his party to what may be termed as  the biggest  victory for India .PM Narendra Modi

In this so called Biopic, we notice the rise of little tea seller from Gujarat to become the Prime Minister of India. The film shows how hurdles were created  to block his progress in Indian politics and how he overcomes them all with his ability to counter every situation with hard work and commitment. The film highlights how Mr. Narendra Modi after taking over as Chief Minister of Gujarat successfully handled the Godhra riots  arising after the Sabarmati Express carrying devotees from Ayodhya was set on fire.  Peace after the riots was established by him , without getting  support from the chiefs of neighboring Congress ruling states, who did not provide extra force required to handle the riots.

This film is certainly an inspiring saga of the most popular leader of India today, though there are some cinematic liberties taken by director Omung Kumar to make some sequences more interesting. There are some scenes and dialogues used to glorify his image . After all, he has emerged as  the new hero in Indian Politics.  And these include Mr. Modi’s way of handling the media house belonging to his rival, when he explains the meaning of Hindustan, where ‘Country comes first before religion’  and then there is the most important last meeting of Mr. Modi at Patna as part of his election campaign before 2014 elections, where the terrorist attack was foiled . The scenes involving industrialist Ratan Tata becoming ready to invest in Gujarat after watching the quick Government clearance for the land required and making 24 hour electricity available in the state, speaks about the good work done by him as CM of Gujarat to develop his state and generate jobs.

Overall the film has been well presented with some important happenings in his political career, which will surely inspire the new generation. There are few emotion filled scenes too, including his interaction with his mother and at the same time there are some humour filled scenes involving his opponents.  Technically it is a well made film, with good photography and excellent background music. Vivek Oberoi who makes his comeback in Bollywood through this film, has performed very well in his own style, instead of copying the  accent of the successful  leader. He has poured his heart and soul in this role . Good support also come  from Manoj Joshi who plays Amit Modi’s role, Zarina Wahab who plays his mother, Rajendra Gupta who plays his father, Anjan Srivastava who plays Atal Bihari Vajpayee, Prashant Narayan, who plays a businessman trying to block his progress and Boman Irani who plays a small role of Ratan Tata . There are many other artistes connected with Mr. Modi’s journey , as his well wishers and his opponents and their limited roles have also been placed with perfection, keeping attention on their  costumes and make up.

If not a grand film, still it is a worth watch film for all, especially the young generation, to understand Mr. Narendra Modi and his work.
