‘Tashkent Files’ team gets invited to Baroda

Who killed Shastri ? was the question  asked, once again, by director Vivek Agnihotri through his latest film ‘The Tashkent Files’ which was released on 12th of April. Initially it was thought that it may be the victim of one of the political party’s agitation. However,  the film does not give verdict but tries to put forth the circumstantial evidence of the case of suspicious death of our second Prime Minister Lal Bahadur Shastri.the tashkent files

After the 1965 war with Pakistan, he led our country to victory and after signing the peace treaty in Tashkent (then part of USSR) he was found dead in his room. Surprisingly, no enquiry was initiated by the then government and now too, no paper trail is available, surprisingly in the government records. The movie is doing steady business through word of mouth and with the ongoing Loksabha elections people are getting curious about the apathy shown towards our “Jai Jawan Jai KIsan” PM.

Just recently the cast including Shweta Basu Prasad, Pallavi Joshi and Director Vivek Agnihotri of ‘The Tashkent Files’  went to Baroda. Producer Haresh Patel and Pranay Chokshi of this Hindi thriller film invited Shweta Basu Prasad, Pallavi Joshi and Director Vivek Agnihotri to Baroda to celebrate the success of their film. They also went to Inox Cinema to watch the film with audience. More than 300 screens increased in the third week,  which is very good for any film. The film collection is increasing everyday with mouth publicity.
