‘The Jungle Book’ –An adventure based film for fantasy lovers

Produced by Walt Disney Pictures, written by Justin Marks and directed by Jon Favreau, latest released film ‘The Jungle Book’ is based on Rudyard Kipling’s eponymous collective works done long ago. Films on ‘The Jungle Book’ were made twice; but they were in total animated version, first in 1967 and then the Part 2 was made in 2003. But, this time, it is an all new live fantasy based adventure, about the popular character Mowgli, played by newcomer Neel Sethi.Jungle Book 2

As we all know, the Kid is being raised by a family of wolves. It is only Sher Khan , who hates Man, his after his blood. With the blessings from his well wishers, like helpful Bagheera and free spirited bear Bhaloo , Mowgli encounters many jungle creatures, besides Sher Khan; but he is able to become friendly with all, except SherKhan. With the timely advice coming from his well wishing friends, Mowgli succeeds in teaching a lesson to SherKhan, in the climax scene.

There are many scenes, where we find interesting happenings. When Mowgli is bitten by honeybees, he applies honey on his wounds, clearly indicating the importance of this substance as antiseptic. The Monkey temple scene and Sherkhan chasing Mowgli have been presented very well. Thanks to the team of special effects people, who made this possible. It was nice to hear the voices of Idris Elba( SherKhan) ,Ben Kigsley( Baghera)  and others. Above all, little Neel Sethi, in the role of  Mowgli is impressive,  on his debut. By the way, he is the only live character in the film.

Certainly, a worth watch film in 3D format with wonderful sound effects.  But, it will be more interesting to watch this film in Hindi, to get the Indian flavour.
