“TT Masters from Maharashtra impressed me the most”- Arbaz Amin Baba

The game of Table Tennis is fast picking up in Jammu and Kashmir. This was clearly noticed during the 28th Masters National Table Tennis Championship which recently concluded in Srinagar. The involvement of local officials and umpires in organisation of this big event was the best example. The team of young umpires namely, Arbaz Amin Baba, Aabid Assad, Basaid, Faisal Hayat, Bilal Ammed and Usmaan invited the attention of all the participants, for their sincerity and dedication to work from 8 am to 8 pm on all the six days of this competition. They had come from different parts of Kashmir.

Magzmumbai spoke to one of these umpires, 22 year old Arbaz  Amin Baba to know as to what brought him to umpire these matches. And, the young and handsome Arbaz said that he was himself a TT player representing J & K team. He played games like Cricket and Table Tennis during his school and college days and played Table tennis at the competitive level in the state. For having agreed to be part of the team of young umpires, he said that he wanted to closely watch the TT Masters in action and there was no better place than Umpire’s chair. When asked, which player inspired him the most, Arbaz said that TT Masters from Maharashtra impressed him the most with their wonderful performance in this tournament.

During the past two years of restriction of movement due to spread of Corona virus, how did Arbaz spend his time without sports? And the youngster said that he learned Guitar during this period. Today, he plays Guitar like any other professional Guitarist. Magzmumbai wishes this youngster all the best.
