Picking up momentum in the second half Air India comfortably soared to a 2-0 win against a determined Kenkre FC in an Elite Division match of the Mumbai District Football Association League 2016-2017, and played at the Cooperage ground. Vijith Shetty and substitute Aaron D’Costa netted the goals, which secured the win.
In a lively and fast-paced encounter the first half ended goalless before Air India managed to hit the target twice in the second period to complete a satisfying win and pocket all the three points.
Midway through the second half the Airmen earned a free kick on the edge of the penalty area and seasoned midfielder Shetty with a measured chip beat the rival goalkeeper for the first goal. A couple of minutes later, Air India added the second when D’Costa tapped after receiving low cross from the left.
