Every year the Mumbai City District Table Tennis Association( MCDTTA) 2nd division Inter Club TT league witnesses good competition, with young promising players emerging to find their place in 1st division. It is not easy to win the title, as there is good competition from all the south Mumbai clubs, represented by the young and veteran players combination.

This year’s 2nd division Inter Club matches also noticed tough competition among seven well balanced teams, with stalwarts like Prakash kelkar, Deepak Dudhane, Ravi Chopra, Abhay Mehta, Sanjay Mehta, Percy Mehta, Jayant Kulkarni, kedar kasbekar playing for their respective teams. But, the players who invited all the attention were MLWB- NMJ’s Junior Atharva Kurade and Student YMCA’s Suraj Chandrashekhar.
Suraj Chandrashekhar
Out of his 20 matches played in this league, Atharwa won 17 matches, while Suraj who played 13 matches for his team lost only one match, which was great achievement by these two players. While Atharva banked on his superb services and deceptive backhand strokes, Suraj displayed excellent ball control during rallies in his speed and spin game combination.
Among others, who stole the show with their superb ball control were, Prakash kelkar, Abhay Mehta Premjeet Rananavare, Havish Asrani & Sanjay Mehta( All PJHG) kedar Kasbekar & Aakash Kasar( EBBSGDA), Ravi Chopra, Deepak Dudhane, Harsh Asher( All Student YMCA). Now, the first division Inter Club and Inter Office league begins from 15th May 2017 at NSCI.
