Union Bank of India ( UBI) produced a strong performance and stromed to a fluent 6-0 win against Maharashtra State Police in a Elite Division match of the MDFA League 2017-2018 and played at the St. Xavier’s ground, Parel on Monday.
The highlight of Union Bank’s huge win was their dashing striker Scot D’Souza who led their charge with four goals. Valentine Pereira and Kshijit Dhabolkar chipped in with one each to complete the margin of victory.
The bakers dominated play from the outset and D’Souza drew first blood in the very second minute. D’Souza the livewire in the Union Bank attack was again on target with the second goal six minutes later and he struck the third in the 15 minute to complete his hat-trick. After Pereira got the fourth in the 43rd minute, D’Souza hit the target for the time in the match with the fifth goal in the 54th minute. Dhabolkar rounded off the tally firing in the sixth in the 88th minute.
