Top seeded Eric Fernandes faced a tough competition from Saurabh Mohite in the quarter finals of Men’s singles in the 4Star Chembur Gymkhana Mumbai Suburban District Ranking Table Tennis tournament. After losing the second and third game , Eric recovered by winning the fourth game, but faced tough battle from his aggressive younger opponent in the fifth game once again. However, keeping himself cool, managed to take this game at 14-12, followed by sixth game and set winning with the score of 11-4.

In another well contested match of 7 games Jignesh Rahatwal beat fancied Tanmay Rane 4-3, in spite of being down 1-2 at one stage. Junior Shubham Ambre continued with his winning run in Youth Boys’ and men’s singles event, when he entered semi finals of both events.
