Gold Cup qualifiers from Dec.6


 

Six local teams will participate in the qualifying rounds of the MHAL organized 52nd Bombay Gold Cup Hockey Tournament, scheduled to be played at the MHAL-Mahndra Stadium, Churchgate from December 6 to 9, 2017.

 

Three teams will qualify for the main draw, which would consist of 12 teams, including the Mumbai Super League champions Central Railway and Mumbai Customs, who have both earned automatic entry. The tournament proper will commence from Monday, December 11, 2017.

 

The six teams that will participate in the initial phase are Indian Navy, Western Railway, Union Bank of India, Sports Authority of India (SAI), Mumbai Port Trust and Bombay Republicans.

 

SAI take on Republicans in the opening match at 2.00pm and later Union Bank meets Mumbai Port Trust at 4.00pm. The winners will meet Indian Navy and Western Railway who have been seeded directly to the semi-finals.
