RBI, L&T, BEST bag Inter office TT title


While Reserve Bank of India Women’s team bagged the First division Women’s title at the MCDTTA Inter Office Table Tennis league yesterday evening, after their victory over Air India, it was the day of L & T players today in the third and fourth division Inter Office Men’s League at NSCI. They won two gold medals, after their ‘A’ team defeated Motilal Oswal in the third division finals, followed by their win over Earnst & Young in the finals of Zone II in 4th division.

The 2nd division Men’s title was was bagged by Compu Services represented by by Ravi Iyer, Arwind Kothari,Nitin Bhat, Padmakumar & evergreen K.K.Rai. They defeated Air India team in the finals.

 

The Finals of Men’s Division 4 played between BEST and MBPT turned out to be the match of the final day, as it was stretched to five well contested matches. BEST’s Sandeep K. turned out to be the hero of this match, winning both his singles matches.

 

The third match for BEST was won by N.Parkar, who beat Madhav H of MBPT. Earlier, K.Vasta had given a flying start to MbPT, winning his first match with ease against BEST’s N.Parkar, but he lost the decider against Sandeep K. in well contested four games.

Mr. kamlesh Mehta eight times national champion and Jt. Hon Secretary of MCDTTA was present as chief guest and he gave away some of the prizes, besides making some important announcements about forthcoming MSL and other international level tournaments at NSCI.

The officials of NSCI were also present as special guests of honour on the occasion. Earlier, they were presented a memento  by Kamlesh Mehta, who appreciated their hard work and support during the course of this tournament.  Mementoes were also presented to all the participating teams by MCDTTA in appreciation of their actrive participation in the league.
